Sinopsis :
Sebuah gempa besar mengguncang Japan dan menghancurkan sebagian besar wilayah tokyo,menenggelamkan sepertiganya ke lautan. 10 tahun kemudian,seorang bocah bernama Igarashi Ganta dijebloskan ke penjara setelah insiden kejam di mana seluruh isi kelasnya dibantai secara sadis,dan Ganta pun dijadikan tersangka pada peristiwa tersebut. Hidup di penjara membuat kehidupan Ganta berubah drastis.
